The 3rd Learning, Teaching, and Training event for the Erasmus+ project "Digital Detox through Permaculture Gardening" took place in Sibiu, Romania, from March 24 to March 27, 2026. Hosted by Colegiul Tehnic "Cibinium," the program brought together students and teachers from Sweden, Spain, Turkey, and Romania to explore sustainable gardening and mindful technology use.

The week kicked off with an introduction to permaculture principles, school garden tours, and a seminar on the role of Artificial Intelligence in education.

Participants headed to a research farm in Rusciori to see sustainable practices in action, followed by a session on maintaining social engagement in a digital world led by guests from the Military School of IT and Cyber Defense. Beyond the workshops, the group will experience Romanian culture through visits to the ASTRA Village Museum, the National Sciences Museum, and a day trip to Brașov and Dracula’s Castle. The event concluded with student presentations of their activities and a final certification ceremony to celebrate their shared progress.

Both students and teachers were all ears as the agricultural engineer lectured on permaculture and the experiment initiated regarding nitrogen-fixing plants in their garden at the back of the school. Soil samples will be submitted to a laboratory for analysis.
